Slovenian H4 Motorway Closure

Free Parking at the Gorizia Interport

Hauliers: 465 free parking spaces available during H4 works

Roadworks on the Slovenian H4 motorway are affecting freight traffic flows along the Italian-Slovenian border.

To limit the impact on the sector, the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region has renewed its 2026 agreement with SDAG Spa, operator of the Gorizia Interport.

For the entire duration of the closure — estimated at approximately 130 days — road haulage companies will be able to access free of charge the interport's three equipped parking areas, totalling around 465 spaces across more than 82,000 m², including assistance, security and customs support services.

The measure was already implemented in 2025 with positive results, and the Region has chosen to confirm it for this new phase, allocating a maximum contribution of €300,000 to cover the costs borne by SDAG Spa.

For hauliers operating along this strategic corridor, the Gorizia facility offers a practical operational base during the weeks affected by the works.
